Since September 2023, we have regularly been holding recycling experience workshops for kids using plastic bottles caps at Laguna Ten Bosch's Lagunasia on the shore of nature-rich Mikawa Bay as a way to create opportunities for the kids and young people who will be responsible for the next generation to enjoy the sea and take action to build a better future. In this workshop, the participants grind up plastic bottle caps with a bicycle-powered shredder, heat the plastic in a special machine, and pour it into a mold to make original key fobs. We held seven of these events this fiscal year, with 265 participants.
With the issue of marine plastic waste worsening in recent years, we hope that this workshop will provide opportunities to consider what we can do to protect the ocean in our everyday lives.
